Vitro Plus - the fern Firm! We produce fern starters.

Vitro Plus is a high – tech (Fern) micro propagation lab located in the southern part of the Netherlands. We are one of the biggest suppliers of starting material  in the world and we sell well over 34 million ferns this year. We currently offers 150 varieties divided over two main product categories. which are the tropicals with (80) varieties and the perennial ferns with (70) varieties . All starting material we  make and deliver is either produced  from TC or from spores. Vitro Plus keeps it’s assortment up to date with 4 – 5 interesting additions each year. With so many ferns available there is a lot to choose! In general the tropical ferns are used indoors, in colder areas, as table ferns, but can be used outside as well in warmer areas, for landscaping, or in hanging baskets on porches and patio’s. In colder countries our perennial ferns are used in gardens and for landscaping as well. We grow, sell and ship our starting material on varying sizes.  Every well of these trays holds a single fern that is divided already and can be transplanted in your nursery trays.  This is very easy and will guarantee a very even crop in your greenhouse. • This hardy garden fern has been named best new tree nursery product at the Four Oaks Trade Show in England edition 2018. A beautiful variety of the existing Dryopteris wallichiana with beautiful pink/bronze new leaves in spring until early in summer, gradually they get a golden yellow glow.

Dryopteris ‘Jurassic Gold’ is a unique fern that has an excellent spring foliage color. The young shoots are golden orange fading to bright golden-yellow and green. Compared to Dryopteris erythrosora (autumn fern), the new shoots of Jurassic Gold are bigger, bolder and richer in color. Its fresh orange fronds brighten up shaded places in the garden or on the terrace. Plant Jurassic Gold in a moist, humus-rich soil. It performs well in USDA Hardiness Zones 5–9. Remove the dead leaves of this deciduous plant after winter.
